Unfortunately, once, a victim of schizophrenia was in my life for several years. Many of them can appear as seemingly normal, functioning, members of society with an extraordinary amount of interest in conspiracy theories. Based on what I learned from my personal experience, that "interest" can be a warning sign. Not everyone is the same, of course, but it is a common trait. I was younger than this person, and, unaware, I trivialized the increasing interest, called it hogwash, and tried to carry on with things. It turned out to have been a "longstanding interest", and got progressively worse. That was a very trying chapter of my life. Michael is so right, conspiracy theories can be something that some young adults choose to explore, and progress away from, as they mature. Amen.
